AmeriCorps

AmeriCorps is the federal agency for national service and volunteerism. AmeriCorps provides opportunities for Americans of all backgrounds to serve their country, address the nation’s most pressing challenges, and improve lives and communities. Their mission is to improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic engagement through service and volunteering. 

City Year LA

City Year LA believes that all students can succeed and that developing the skills and mindsets of children and young adults contributes to strong, vibrant communities—outcomes that benefit everyone. City Year LA supports students and school, develops civic leaders, and shares promising practices. 

Green Corps

The mission of Green Corps is to train organizers, provide field support for today’s critical environmental campaigns, and graduate activists who possess the skills, temperament, and commitment to fight and win tomorrow’s environmental battles.

PeaceCorps

The Peace Corps Mission is to promote world peace and friendship by fulfilling three goals: first, to help countries interested in meeting their need for trained people. Second, to help promote a better understand of Americans on the part of the peoples served. Thirdly, to help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans. 

Teach for America

Teach For America is a leadership development organization for those who want to co-create a more just world alongside young people in their communities. Their mission is to find, develop, and support equity-oriented leaders, individually and in teams, so they can transform education and expand opportunity with children, starting in the classroom. 

Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF)

Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) is a worldwide movement to link visitors with organic farmers, promote a cultural and educational exchange, and build a global community conscious of ecological farming and sustainability practices.

St. Joseph Worker Program

The St. Joseph Worker Program gives women ages 21-35 an opportunity to participate in a service year in underrepresented areas of needs in Orange County, California. The program empowers women to respond to the needs of the times in preparation for a life-long commitment to social change and personal transformation. Individual growth and development are built on the values of leadership, spirituality, social justice and intentional community grounded in living simply and sustainably. Our St. Joseph Workers live together in Orange, CA- forming an intentional community with each other. Service positions available in healthcare, education, social services and advocacy are based on education, skills and interest of the volunteer. Benefits include: room and board, health insurance, transportation, monthly stipend, student loan deferment/forbearance options through AmeriCorps.
