Monday, May 13 @ 12PM - 2PM : Debunking Food Stamp Myths with Cal Fresh  /What Can You Actually Buy with "Food Stamps"?

Learn more about CalFresh and join us at our booth by participating in activities exploring the program formally known as “food stamps”. Those who participate will be entered to win a prize!

Tuesday, May 14 @ 6PM - 8PM : Social Justice Series on Homelessness at Cal Poly

Stephen Busse, a grad student in Cal Poly's Dean of Students, will be speaking about homelessness and food insecurity in honor of Homelessness Awareness Week. Stephen’s talk aims to evaluate the impact of homelessness on college students nationally with a call to action that details how to help on our campus. We hope to see you there! Pizza provided!

Thursday, May 16 @ 10AM - 1PM : Mural Painting at 40 Prado Shelter

As part of Homelessness Awareness Week (HAW) join the CSA's Student Community Services in helping beautify the family wing of CAPSLO's new 40 Prado shelter! We will be livening up the white walls with a colorful scenic landscape. This is an event for anyone and everyone; artistic talent is not needed but also appreciated! Friday, May 17 @ 4PM – 6PM : Community Barbecue

The Center for Service in Action will be hosting a joint BBQ for the SLO homeless community. Participants will get a chance to serve a meal and engage in genuine conversations with people who lack housing.

Refillable Water Bottle Drive

As a part of our Homelessness Awareness Week, we will be collecting refillable water bottles for the local homeless population. The water bottles will be donated to the El Camino Homeless Organization (ECHO) as they prepare to help homeless individuals during the warm summer months. We will be accepting new or used water refillable water bottles. Drop off the water bottles to the Center of Service in Action (Building 52, Room E-22). Thank you!

I. “Ensures all students have access to nutritious meals each day in order to stay focused on their education and success at Cal Poly. Any student is welcome to use these free, confidential, no-hassle services.”

1. “Any students can choose from a wide variety of packaged and canned foods, fresh produce, frozen meals, and personal hygiene products.”
